February New FO

Well here are some starts for this month.

This is for a retreat class.

This is for another class at the same retreat.

that's really the only 2 starts I have for this month. Now next month might be a different story. I just got back from Sew Expo and got some new projects there. I'll post pics in the next post.

Hooking up to New FO. Check it out.

February LYOF

My Lovely Year of Finishes is complete!!!! Yay!!!!
It is quilted, bound and ready to go along with a small pillow made from the left over block.
I am posting an older pic of the project because I dropped my camera and although it still works, it's really a hassle to open it up to get the SD card out cause it's all taped shut.
The original post is here

Progress Report 2-17 thru 2-23

Still don't feel like I'm getting too much done. Just can't seem to get in motion. Oh well. here's what I got done for the week.
Monday-At LQS for Marti & Me Club and Open Sew.
Tuesday-2 mile walk, came home and spent day getting paperwork and info ready to go to the accountant for taxes on Thursday.
Wednesday-Housework and laundry, finished up Costa Maya top (class I am teaching at retreat).

Thursday-To accountant, came home and had our monthly quilt group meeting.
Friday-Worked on sample for 2nd class I will teach at quilt retreat. This is my own design and I will have the pattern available in a couple of weeks. I also made a sample for the Marti & Me Club.

This is a table runner and since the theme this year at retreat is Piece, Love & Quilting, I have named it Feelin' Groovy.
Saturday-at LQS to teach #3 class of Beginning Quilting.
Today is Slow Stitching Sunday and I will be working on the Hexies that I have been working on for a while. Hooking up to Kathy's SSS. Check it out to see what others are working on.

Progress 2-3 thru 2-9

Still not getting a whole lot accomplished.
Monday I was out at the LQS for the Block of the Month.
Tuesday I started working on the sample for the class I will teach at the April retreat.
Wednesday out and about with a friend.
Thursday worked on retreat sample.
Friday I started quilting on a 5 yd. quilt for my Dr.'s office and worked some more on retreat sample.
Saturday I worked all day on the new Block of the Month project for the LQS that starts next month.
Sunday worked all day on BOM sample and got the whole top assembled.

Actually, Saturday I was supposed to have #2 class of a Beginning Quilting class. On Friday I called my students to see if they were going to make it because of the snow we had the night before. All opted to cancel and add a week on at the end. I could live with that. Better to be safe than sorry.

If you would like a sneak peek at my retreat class--here it is:

This is the center. I still have a bit more to go. I really think this will be a fun class.

I've also done some piecing for the RSC. This month is pink. Here is my start. I still have more blocks cut and ready to piece. Go here and see what others are doing.

BTW-this is the BOM we're doing at the LQS.

That's it for now.

Design Wall Monday 2-3-14

This is what is on my wall for now.

These blocks are from the group that meets at my house once a month. Paws to Sew or PTS is the name. Each year we make blocks to exchange at our Christmas Dinner. In past years we've had barns, houses, faces. trees, etc.. We have until April to do something with these. I have them up on my wall to see if I will be inspired with a wonderful idea.

Progress 1-19 thru 2-2

Haven't gotten too much sewing done in the last couple of weeks. At least not as much as I think I should have done.
On Monday the 20th I spent all day at the LQS doing the Marti & Me Club. The next day found me going for a walk in the morning (with DH). Then went and got a haircut. After that had to go get a blood draw and drop off quilts at the Dr's office and then go to airport to pick up DS. Wednesday morning, went for walk, bank, and then started working on the new BOM (Tomorrow's Promise) for the LQS. Thursday had a Dr. appt. Friday morning I left for a quilting retreat at the ocean for 4 days. I posted my account of that here.

The following week I got absolutely nothing done. I came back from retreat on Monday and I just couldn't get any energy to do anything. Thursday went to the Doc and found out I had a bladder infection. On Saturday I was back at the LQS to teach a Beginning Quilting class. Of course, Sunday was Super Bowl Day so had to watch the Hawks. I did set up my sewing machine so I could watch and sew some more on the BOM. I also cut out the project I will teach at the April retreat.

I didn't get my Lovely Year of Finishes for January done (boo hiss). I did get it to the flimsy stage, but didn't get it quilted and bound. You find that project here.
Here is a pic of the flimsy.

For February this will be my project for LYOF.

I need to quilt and bind this.

My Get It Done list didn't do too bad with.
1. Snow Rose is a flimsy.
2. Reach for a Cure totes actually did 18 (goal was 8).
3. Primitive Heart-----not done.
4. Hot Rod Quilt-Done!!

My list this  month is:
1. Make 5 Reach for a Cure totes.
2. Butterfly Trail

3. Primitive Heart.
4.  April Retreat Class Sample

Before I forget---let me update last weeks Stash Report
Fabric Added this week:  5.5 yards
       Fabric added YTD:    18.5
Fabric Used this Week:   5.5 yards
       Fabric Used YTD:  33.5
             Fabric Used/Added:  15 yards

The fabric that came in this week was cut up and I'm making the sample for retreat with it.

Well, that's about all for right now.
