End of Month Reports

Well here it is the end of the  month and I've just barely made the deadline on
A Lovely Year of Finishes. I was to finish my Dragonfly 5 yard quilt. I quilted it today, started sewing the binding to the back after dinner and finished while watching Bonnie Hunter on Quilt-Cam.

I quilted it with a panto called WaterLily by Dave Hudson.

My next to do list for finishes for the month is as follows:

 1. Quilt & Bind Dragonfly 5 yd. quilt.-Done
2. Quilt and Bind purple floral BQ quilt.
3. Make 5 Reach for a Cure Totes-Done
   4. Finish Easy Street top.
This is from Patchwork Times by Judy L.

For March here is my LYof F--
Quilt & Bind Purple Floral BQ quilt (Pic to be posted later).

March Get It Done with Judy L---
1. 5 Reach for a Cure Totes
2. Purple Floral BQ quilt
3. Phat Cat  Jazz quilt
4. Musical Table runner

Should keep me busy for a while.

Beginning Quilting Class

The last 4 Saturdays I did a Beginning Quilting class at my LQS. Here are the results from some of the students.

For some reason I can't get pic rotated. Here's one finish.

Finish #2

This young lady was soooo enthused that this is what she did----

She actually did 2 quilts.
I think she's hooked.

Finally Getting Something Done

I'm finally starting to get things done.
I had a client quilt on for about a week and a half and just couldn't get going on it. Too many things distracted me. Well I finally got it done (forgot to get pics of it). It was a Thimbleberries Safe Haven quilt. After that I put on a 1600 quilt and quilted it.

After that I put on another 1600 quilt and got it quilted (again---no pics). Then I put on a baby quilt with different fun "monsters" (again--no pics). Now I have a tabletopper on to do. I am slowly catching up on things. I still have to quilt my "Dragonfly 5 yard quilt" for a Lovely Year of Finishes. I guess tomorrow will be a busy day for me if I'm going to get that done for this month.
I was supposed to go to Sew Expo tomorrow but I think my friend and I talked ourselves out of going. There's really nothing we really "need", and our time would probably be better spent working on getting inventory ready for our quilt shows that will be starting up the first of April.
Well I think I'll stop for now and sit down and enjoy some hot tea and Girl Scout cookies(that were just delivered).

An Update of Sorts

Well I haven't gotten a whole lot accomplished this week in actual quilting. I have had a quilt on the machine for the last week and hope to finish it tomorrow. It's not that I'm loading it down with quilting or anything. It's just everytime I go to work on it, I get distracted with something else. I have completed 3 Reach for a Cure totes that I wanted to do this month. I have also cut another 100 Spool leader and ender kits to do. Then I cut some of the pile of scraps that needed attending to (cutting into 2 1/2" strips , 1 1/2" strips and squares. I've also sewn 16 Scrappy Trip squares. Cut 5 tote kits (Reach for a Cure). Then I finally got started on the Postcards I need to send out by the end of the month.

Which brings me to this story about doing the postcards. I am using a Wool Felt backing and using Sari ribbons and other yarns and fibers (that I am using a hand felting tool to attach them to the base). I brought everything up to the island in the kitchen to sit there and work on them. I had everything loaded in a box lid. I took out some of the stuff to work on, and after a while when I went to get additional stuff out, this had been added to the box-----

This is Gidget. She seems to think it's her new bed LOL.
Of course I need to give equal time to my little guardian---

This is Tessa----my baby.
My other little furry child (Moki) was no where in sight. He was probably outside enjoying a half way decent day.

Well  that's it for now.

Til next time

Not on my List

Well----I couldn't get into doing what I really should have been doing today. Instead I got to working on something I had started and really wanted to finish while I was still enthused about it. So here it is.

Now all I have to do is get it quilted.
I guess tomorrow I'd better get busy and stick to what needs to be done. We'll see (LOL).

Lovely Year if Finishes-February

Here is my project for February's finish.

I've had this top made for at least 2 years, so it needs to be done.
I'm sort of like the auto mechanic who's car doesn't run. I do client quilts before mine, so therefore, I don't get to mine. I have started a new thing this year. After every 2 client quilts I schedule one of mine to go on. I hope I stick to it.
