Finish of the Day

Today I got a client quilt finished. It took me most of the day so I didn't get to any of my sewing. I also loaded the next quilt on to be done. (I must confess-----while getting dinner ready I played a little with my treadle. I finished my first string pieced block on it. YAY!!!!).

That's it for now.

End of Month Reports 7-31-13

Let's start with Lovely Year of Finishes
Once again I did not finish the BQ quilt I have been trying to get done. So once again I will list that as my to do item for August. If I don't get something finished on any of my lists I will roll it over to the following month. Maybe that will shame push me to get it done.

Here's the link for August

Next we will report on Judy L's Get It Done.
I had listed:
            1. the BQ quilt (once again) not done
            2. Quest for a Cure-done and delivered to Dr.'s
            3. Paws To Sew Sampler-not done
            4. Barns-not done
To view pics on these projects go here.
New projects for this month are:
            1. BQ (eventually this WILL be done)
            2. Paws To Sew Sampler
            3. Barns
            4. Basket Case Quilt (view pic here)

Next up is the New FO Challenge
This is what I want to work on this month.

These were blocks that I actually won at a retreat and they have been put away since then. I need to get these done. Maybe. But I will start on them at least.

That's it for now.

Quilts & a New Addition to the family

I have kept my nose to the grindstone this last week until today. My goal was a quilt a day and I have managed to do that. Here are a couple of quilt that I have completed this week.

Next up---Farmer's Wife

Now on to other news. I have a new addition to my family ( my family of machines that is).
I was perusing Craigslist the other day and happened to see a listing for this little gem.

Well long story short. It was a 2 1/2 hour round trip, but home it came. I still have to go through and do a little cleaning and  oiling, but isn't she a beaut?

It came with a manual and TWO boxes of attachments and a few other goodies. I am soooooooo stoked to get going on this and start sewing on it. Before I can spend too much time on it I do have to finish the last 2 quilts that I should have done by now.  I guess this will give me incentive to get to work.

Design wall Monday 7-22

I have decided I'm going to pick one unfinished project and STICK WITH IT until it is DONE!!!
So this is what's on the design wall for this week.

I need to add 3 borders to this puppy. I will then try (and I mean TRY) to load it right away on the longarm and get it quilted.
I'm linking up to Design Wall Monday.

I have 200 done and another 90 cut and ready to piece. I may start putting them together when I hit 300, just to see how far I get.

Progress Report 7-16

Trying to keep myself motivated by seeing what I accomplish.
I have finished up the Quest for a Cure quilt.

I have also been getting things ready for hand work in the evenings. I have been making bias strips that are being made into pink ribbons that are appliqued on a block. This will be for another quilt to go to my Drs. office.

I have started embroidering a block from the "Catalicious" quilt from Red Brolly.
I have also been working on some inventory for when I vend at shows.

I finished a quilt for a client that picked it up on Sunday.

Yesterday I quilted a baby quilt for a client and loaded another to start on this morning. This  morning I quilted that quilt and loaded another for a quick start tomorrow morning. (Pics will follow in a couple of days.)

Tonight I'm going to sit and join Bonnie Hunter on Quilt Cam and probably work on the embroidery block.

Would you believe----

I actually did something for me today. I'm going to keep this.

I have 5 or 6 more embroidered. Now all I have to do is finish them.

New TO DO List

Joining a new to do list.
This is the 2013 Finish A Long at She can quilt Blog.

she can quilt

Here's the list.

#1 Quest For a Cure top.

#2 This is my Barns quilt from Paws to Sew Group.

3. Paint Chip Challenge from my Paws to Sew Group.

4. Lorelei Cats that I have embroidered and now have to set them in a top.

5. Pinwheel blocks that are from a quilt group I belonged to. Must be about 8 years old. They're ready to be done. ;-0  There are many more that I have to put in sets of 4.

This should keep me busy for a while, besides all the other UFO's I plan on working on and finishing.
I think I need 40 hours in a day.
That's it for now.

Happy 4th & Progress Report

First of all I want to wish everyone a Happy 4th of July. I hope everyone has a safe and wonderful 4th.

Now for my progress report on what I have accomplished this week so far. Sunday I returned home from retreat. Monday was an all day at Gee Gee's (LQS) for BOM. Tuesday I had errands to run (deliver Reach for a Cure Totes, Safeway, Harbor Freight, JoAnn's, etc.). Wednesday, it was finally finish unloading the van and putting stuff away (from retreat). Then I decided that the Quest for a Cure top I had started on needed to get the borders on, so that is now a flimsy. I also pieced a back for it and cut and prepared the binding. Then on to cutting and piecing the sample for the "From Marti & Me" Club that will be starting up at Gee Gee's after the Farmers Wife Club is finished. After that I decided to get that last block from the paint chip challenge done. I had pre-cut and taken this to retreat and when I pieced it I was (2) 2' x 6 1/2" pieces short. Then on to load  client quilt.

That's about it up to now. Today is sort of laid back. DH and I will be going to a friend's tonight for visiting, food and fireworks.

Back from Idaho Retreat

Well I made it back from Idaho in one piece. A bit wilted from the heat but---oh well.
Had a really really--really good time. There were a lot of demo's on technique ideas.
I had a little goodie kit for everyone to do and here is a picture of some of the results.

This is from QuiltSmart. It is a wine glass shade, and as you can see-----we had some pretty imaginative people.

Another thing we did were Closet Diva's. Here's the results-

These were a lot of fun. We voted on favorites and I couldn't believe mine was 1st place.

Here are some other pics from retreat.

We stayed at the Palouse Divide Lodge.  They have wonderful facilities and good food. They have several quilting and scrapbooking groups meet there. I have linked to their page. Check them out.

BTW, I didn't get as much done as I wanted. I did get 31 Reach to Recovery totes done. I want to thank the ladies that helped me make these bags. A lot of the ladies at the retreat made one or two bags. Special thanks to Linda & Joyce.
I also finished a queen size Walkabout quilt top, part of a  Paint Chip Challenge form my quilting group, and part of a 30's pinwheel top. Oh, almost forgot, I also did about 16 Moth in the Window blocks. I'll try to get pics of those posted.
