Last Progress Report for February

Monday, got involved in cutting projects. Cut out a dozen totes for the cancer center. Cut out 20 Little Dresses for Africa. Also started quilting on client quilt.

Tuesday, went for 2 mile walk and then came home and quilted more on client quilt. Also made up one of the Little Dresses.

Wednesday, went to LQS for last of the Beginning Quilting classes.

Thursday, went for 2 mile walk with BQB. Came back and we went to work on Gypsy Wife blocks. Mine on left, hers on right.

I also worked on the Pi-2 quilt that I want to set up as a class.

Friday I went for my walk. Came back and made some pillowcases to go with the quilt I'm giving to my accountant. Now I have to get busy and finish up working on a machine that I've had on my workbench for far too long. Hopefully I can get it done and delivered.

Saturday I will be going to Sew Expo in Puyallup, so that will be my whole day. Time to play :-).

Sunday was a laid back day. I did go downstairs and play a little. I spent time cutting out projects and did a little work on the class sample.

Monday-----yay! Finished putting together Pi-2. It will go out to the LQS with me next Monday.

These are just some of the things on my design wall this week. I am linking up to Patchwork Times.
Take some time to check out other projects.

That's it for now.

Second monthly update

To continue on monthly progress.
Wednesday I was back out at the LQS for the third class of Beg. quilting. Then Thursday BQB came over and we went for our walk. After we got back we went straight down to the sewing room and started working on our Gypsy Wife blocks. We got 3 made before we had to call it quits because it was almost time for the "girls" to start showing up for our "Paws to Sew" monthly meeting.

The ones on the left are mine. Right side are BQB's blocks.

The meeting went good. I suggested a 6" block that we could make. There are 5 of us that are going to do this. Each month we will draw a color to do the block in. We each make 5 blocks of that color and the following month we will exchange blocks. The block is called Darting Bird.

Friday morning went for the 2 mile walk. Got back home and went down and got the 5 blocks made for the PTS group exchange. (See pic above.)

Then I made the first block for the BOM that will be starting next month. Farm Girl Vintage.

After that I finished up the pillows for the Breast Cancer totes and took them to the center where I donate them.

Saturday went to check out a quilt show to see if maybe next year we can get in as a vendor.
Update on Saturday-----! We went to quilt show and to the quilt shop in town. We left there at 2 o'clock. Folks, this is a hour trip. I did not get home until 6:45 PM. The highway was backed up so I thought I would go the back way through Yelm. BAD MISTAKE!!!! Almost from the beginning it was 5 miles an hour or a complete stop. I finally made it to the gas station in Yelm (this was after taking several back roads around the town because the main road was at a complete stop) and got gas. Pulled out from there and what would normally take 5 minutes to travel, took an hour. I was sooooo tired by the time I got home. But I did manage to keep my cool which in itself is amazing :-).

Today I think it will be a laid back day for me. I will work on a client quilt and get it done for delivery this week.

Mid Month Report

Here we are already half way through this month.
I have managed to do a little work so far. The month started out pretty busy. The first Monday, of course was the BOM out at the quilt shop. Then Wednesday was the start of a 4 part Beginning Quilt Class. Friday was the start of a 2 part Curve It Up Class using the Quick Curve Ruler. Of course, Thursday BQB came by and we did our walk and instead of coming home right away we had to make a stop at a fabric store. Then we came home and did a little planning on our project for Thursday sew day.

The second Monday of the month was the Marti & Me Club and Open Sew. Wednesday was class #2 of Beg, Quilting, and Friday was Curve It Up. On Thursday BQB and I started on our new project. We decided we wanted to do The Gypsy Wife Quilt. We spent the first half of the day making the first 2 blocks. The second half of the day we worked on UFO's. Here are our first 2 blocks. Mine are on the left and her's are on the right.

Saturday was the Early Bird Car Swap Meet at the fairgrounds. Hubby & I went with the thought of maybe finding something we need for my '62 Ranchero. Well we didn't find anything for that but I did find something.

The oil can in the upper left corner is stamped Singer.

Yesterday I worked on a second version of Tropical Punch. I wanted to do something different cause I'm teaching this at the April Retreat I go to and I want them to see a different style. I may make a third version if time allows.

Here is the original.

Then I got busy and quilted this quilt. This is for my accountant.

After finishing that I loaded this quilt and got started on it.

Today I have done a little more cleaning up around the sewing room.

I guess that's about it for now.

Is it February already?

Here it is already February. Boy did January go by fast.

Now I have to get back to work. I still haven't finished making all my class samples, much less gotten any of my quilts done. Oh well.

I did spend the last weekend of January at the ocean at a quilt retreat. I did manage to get a couple of tops done.

This first one, I still need to put the small inner border and outer border on. I sort of mis-cut some fabric and had to pick up more for the inner border.

This next is a 5 yard quilt. Everything is from stash.

I also made 4 of the clothsline baskets, and worked on some inventory items.
I guess you could say I did get quite a few things accomplished.

Today I made a small sample of a workshop that I am doing at the LQS.

Well I guess that about catches me up for now.

Bibliophile File Report

I'm going to keep track of the books I've either read (hard copy) or listened to as I spend time in my sewing room.

The first Tuesday of the month Sarah Did It, reports on her reading. I will hook up to her blog HERE so you can see what everyone is reading.

January reads-

1. Sins & Needles by Monica Ferris (CD)
2. I've Got You Under My Skin by Mary Higgins Clark (CD)
3. Say Goodbye by Lisa Gardner (CD)

As you can see by what I read I like mysteries. Once in a while I go off track and listen to something else.

I guess that's it for this month. I'm going to try to get more reading in, in the future.
